SARAH'S WORK

Lamb's Way
By: Sarah (Age 10)

A forever home for the differently-abled. My family is a ministry together working to help medically fragile children. Right now I have six brothers and sisters. I have three biological brothers and sisters. Then there's Shyheim. We call him Shyshy for short. He's 4 years old. Shyshy is my adopted brother. His life expectancy was only supposed to be eight months old. That's one miracle, Shyshy is blind but he still has fun. When he was born his mother took drugs. He can't walk because of his mothers alcohol. His brain wasn't able to develop, so he only has about half his brain. He can't walk, talk, or see.

Max is my foster brother. We're going to adopt him maybe in a couple months. He's three years old. He's learning very slowly to walk. His mother also took drugs so Max's brain isn't fully developed either. Max can see but he has a shunt made of surgical steel (titanium). Max and Shyshy are both blacks.

Erica is my white foster sister. She's four. She's going deaf so we have to teach her sign language. She has hearing aids.

All of my medically fragile brothers and sister's parents notice how important it is for us to take care of their children. The Lord was kind and gave my mom a Christian home health aid. Thank God that there's a God. God also gave us two big vans. One is what we call the cheese wagon because it look like the color of cheese. It's a twelve passenger van that our church gave us. The other van is a nineteen passenger van with seven wheel-chair lock down places, a chair lift, a bathroom, and 6 wheels in back and 2 wheels in front. Lamb's Way started with Shyheim. Then I had a lot of other foster siblings. There was Carlos (CJ for short), Eliza, Christopher and now Max and Erica. Before I was born Martha (she's 18 years old) and Ben (14 years old) were my parents' only children. They wanted foster children. But then I came along (Sarah Greenier) and then my younger sister Hannah (7 years old) came along. After Hannah was 2 or 3, my parents started Lamb's Way.

We're praying now for a bigger house to be built in a place in Vernon, CT that's 10.7 acres. We know God's going to help us with a house even if it's not 10.7 acres of land.

Big Sister

My family is in ministry together working to help medically fragile children. Right now I have six brothers and sisters. Three of my siblings are biological. Then there is Shyheim, my adopted 4-year-old brother. We call him "Shyshy " for short. Shyshy has cerebral palsy and can't walk, talk or see, but he still has fun. He likes feeling the breeze on his face when he is being pushed on the swing or sliding down the slide.

Max is my foster brother. He's 3 years old and also has cerebral palsy. He's learning very slowly to walk. My foster sister, Erica, is 4. She's going deaf so we have to teach her sign language. She wears hearing aids.

We keep in touch with the birth families of the children we care for. The parents know how important it is for us to take care of their children. I've had a lot of different brothers and sisters over the years, because we've been able to give many children a home.

The Lord was kind and gave my mom a Christian home health aide. God also gave us two big vans. We're praying now for a bigger house. We know God's going to help us with a house. I'm thankful there's a God.

Be a Better Friend

If you treat others the way you want,
You won't be friends for long.
So you must be careful what you say,
Or your friendship will go wrong.

If you treat others the way you want,
You won't be friends for long.
So you must be careful what you do,
Or your friendship will go wrong.

If you treat others the way God wants,
You'll definitely be a friend.
So be careful what you say and do,
Or your friendship will come to an end.

Forest Walk

Carefully so we would stay on the roads,
We went through the forest with our loads.
I carried feathers but he carried rocks,
For I am saved but he is not.
My burden is light, because Jesus Christ bore it.
His burden is heavy, because he tried to ignore it.
